Thai Village Cuisine

Where is the best Thai food in New Orleans (and metro area)?

Please provide a little description with your answers, especially your favorite dishes. Personally, I'm a big fan of all the curries: red, green, panang. And I used to love the pad thai at Bangkok Cuisine by Rock N Bowl. Lately, I've had some Thai Chili in Mandeville, Siamese Thai in Metairie, Bangkok Thai at the riverbend. Haven't eaten there in a while, but have never had anything good from Basil Leaf. How good is La Thai Cuisine on Metairie Rd?

  1. I don't know where is the Best Thai food in New Orleans is, I go to Fast Food Restaurants to eat, like McDonald's. I use-to go to Bally's Casino Buffy in New Orleans East..
  2. La thai has great food My husband and I eat there quite often. Good food and excellent service you cant ask for more than that. The owner/chef of La Thai is the same family as Bankok Cuisine. I like the phat thai there and my husband raves about the mossaman curry. Also the chiliean seabass is excellent there.
  3. When I commute to the city (I live on the Northshore), I eat at Singha Thai Cafe at 413 Carondelet Street. The restaurant has amazing food at affordable prices. I usually get the curry or beef dishes, but I've liked everything I've tried there. The service was also great as well.
  4. I went to the one on Vets. in Metairie near N.O. Hamb. & Seafood, and their rice was awful, just plain with tons of black pepper, no other flavor. I couldn't even eat anything I was served. My husband, who loves spicy food, couldn't eat either. Blech! .
  5. I like Suko Thai, its right outside the french quarter. Description: The casual restaurant in the Marigny has creative Thai options that satisfy vegetarians and omnivores alike. address: 1913 Royal St. phone: 948-9309
