What is the best thai dish to order at a thai restaurant?

Public Comments

  1. green curry with shrimp.
  2. Tom Yum Goong! Which also happens to be a really cool Thai movie.
  3. phad thai
  4. Appetizer: chicken sate soup: tom kha gai (chicken coconut) Entree: cashew chicken, (Kai Himmapan the spicier the better), Dessert: mangos with sweet sticky rice Drink: Thai iced tea
  5. If you've never had Thai food before, try Pad Thai. Currys are always really good. It depends on what restaurant you go to because they always have different things. You really can't go too wrong though!
  6. 1 yellow curry with chicken 2 Chile with mint leaves with shrimp
  7. I like to order Pad See Ew, Panang curry, Thai Basil Chicken or Shrimp, Tom Kha Gai & any Thai Eggplant dish I also think it depends on the restaurant
  8. Pad Thai (noodle dish).
  9. Yum Nur - just make sure you don't need to have a bowel movement within 24hrs of having it tho - talk about a ring of fire
  10. Lemongrass Flavored Rice with Vegetable stew.. Amazing
  11. Do what the average American/European does, order pad thai. Then you can try the curries or any of the fried rices that may be served. Be brave and bold. Tasty stuff. After the main course, try the coconut ice cream, poached bananas, or rice pudding.
  12. Massaman Curry OR Pineapple Fried Rice
  13. Definately Massaman curry made with Pork! Depends entirely on where in the world you are going to be... Thailand has it pretty good! Auckland has a great Thai restaurant called 'Sawadee' they make the BEST massaman, but I dont think its on the menu... just for special people kk. Thai food is very easily likeable, you should try a little of everything!
  14. It really depends on the restaurant. Just ask them what they think is their best dish. I like the curries and Pad Naam Prik POW
  15. phad thai
  16. Phad Thai with prawns
  17. Masaman curry or Panang curry are my favorites. It's been a long time, but there was this dish called, "Lahd Na" (sp?) that was wide flat noodles with brocolli in a black bean sauce. Absolutely delicious. Though if you are completely new to the food, it's probably best to start with Pad Thai to get a taste for it. The first time I had thai food, I ordered the sweet and sour chicken dish as it was the only item on the menu that I recognized. Big mistake...because I didn't like it and refused to try Thai food for years afterwards. Now Thai food is one of my favorites.
