Thai Village Cuisine

What is the best, most authentic Thai restaurant in the Chicago area?

I'm looking for a good Thai restaurant in the Chicago area, suburbs included. I'm looking for an authentic restaurant that is reasonably priced preferably.

  1. Go to Tac Quick. Very authentic and great prices. It is under the Red Line Sheridan St. stop. Great food. BYOB. http://chicago.metromix.com/restaurants/thai/tac-quick-thai-kitchen-lakeview/144707/content
  2. Sticky Rice has a vast menu of northern Thai specialties where it's easy to spot the unique items, but other places might only have a small handful of dishes that make them different. An example at Thai Avenue is the curry puff--it's not available everywhere and it's something that they do particularly well. Sticky Rice is located at 4018 N Western, Chicago, (773) 588-0120, BYOB Thai Avenue offers "Chalkboard specials" with excellent food, and the staff is extremely friendly and give great suggestions for those who are "Thai-challenged". The pad siew and pad thai are excellent, and the crab rangoon is the best in Chicago., "Thai Avenue" is located at 4949 N Broadway in Chicago, (773) 878-2222, BYOB Thai Castle, 1546 W Chicago Ave, Chicago, (312) 733-3339. The menu offers an array of more than 70 meat, seafood and vegetarian items: from pad thai and cashew chicken to panang curry and pad woo sen (bean thread noodles with veggies). To drink, there's Thai iced coffee, while desserts include custard and taro pearls. Thai Lagoon, located at 2322 W North Avenue (BuckTown) Chicago, (773) 489-5747. This is a great neighborhood place. The curries are delicious, very reasonable prices, different dishes, high quality food and NO WAITING IN LINE like other places in this neighborhood. Good music is always playing, and rotating artists exhibit. An overall good experience without busting the wallet.
