I love Thai food, if I went to Thailand could I get the same food that I could get at a Thai restaurant?

I ask this because I know that what I can get a Chinese restaurant is actually a lot different than what I could get if I was in China. I mean could I still get Pad Thai, and Pad se ew (the one with broccoli and sweet soy sauce), if I went to Thailand.

You'll get way a lot better food there. It's authentic, you can't go wrong with authentic, plus thai restaurants here aren't really thai food, just like taco bell aint mexican food.

no you will not, there are traditional thai food and american thai food. What you eat was definitely american thai food. If you would go to thailand and eat the food there it would probably be pork legs and duck tongues.

I just came back from Thailand, I am Thai. Food in Thai tastes a bit better because of the availability of ingredients. Pad Se Ew and Pad Thai are available but they make it to serve Thai people not westerners and the vegetables are different to the markets in Australia so there won't be broccoli. And it depends to which store you go to some outlet may make Pad Thai and Pad Se Ew better than other store. For sure green curry in Thai tasted different to what they make in Australia its more hot, because Thai people likes CHILI, but Australian customers likes the coconut milk and they love it sweet. Its a bit of cultural exchange really.

Lots of difference in the way Thai restaurants in the west make the same dishes, and lots of different styles in Thailand, too. So it won't be the same. They don't use broccoli in pad see ew they use "kanaa".
Sheng you don't know because you not Thai but I'm Thai sure you can get it way better than you get in America because Pad Thai and Pad se ew are easy to find in Thailand almost everywhere and it taste good and not different no matter expensive or cheap it very cheap and I'm sure you can do it by yourself and if you need recipe let me know p.s.Sorry bout my English
