Cooking cubed tofu for Thai and other Asian cuisine?
Whats a good way to stir fry cubed tofu like they do in Thai resturaunts? Last night I heated some olive oil them added some bay leaf, garlic, onion, cumin, and cinnamon and fried the tofu in that, but it's not exactley great...

- buy the already flavored baked tofu and in a wok cook it a bit then add noodles and veggies of your choice with a bit of oil and in the end some teriyaki or any other sauce/marinade you like. and mmm, delicious. =)
- Use peanut oil, not olive oil, olive oil has too much flavor of it's own stir fry in oil with added garlic, fresh minced ginger and some soy sauce cumin, cinnamon, bay leaf are NOT asian spices, they won't give you the flavor you are looking for
- Try some good stir fry sauces available at stores. Heat some oil (preferably veg or peanut oil or even sesame oil... if you are very health conscious use olive oil) add ginger / garlic paste, finely chopped onions / spring onions, add a few veggies of your choice, soy sauce and stir fry sauce to taste (I prefer lots of it), dried chillies, and stir fry well. Try peanut based sauces or very spicy ones as tofu is extremely bland. Try deep frying tofu and then add them in stir fry (tofu does not absorb oil because of its high water content, fry until light golden brown, it may splatter a bit because of the water).
- Deep fry the whole tofu, add any gravy to taste.
