Thai Village Cuisine

Do u like a cuisine NOT from your culture more than your own?

I'm American and I think I pretty much prefer "American" cuisine but Persian cuisine comes a close 2nd. Just asking the question because I know an Indian guy who prefers Thai cuisine over his own Indian. I really like meat-stuffed dolmades and shirin polo.

  14. Hmm... it really depends on my mood really. I'm Chinese and sometimes I think I like Japanese/Italian/French/Korean food better. But when I come across some really good Chinese dish I think that's the best (as with any other cuisine I try). But I guess it really depends on my mood because I've lived in a very culturally diverse place where you can try lots of different types of food from all over the world and figured out that sometimes I like Italian better, others I like Korean food better. However, some of the supermarkets where I used to live stocked lots of Japanese food, so I think that affects the type of cuisine I like as well.
  15. No I prefer my own, but I will try others.
  16. I love the foods from other countries, different than mine, like: Chinese, Sushi, Persian, Indian and Mediterranean food. I am American.
  17. I love authentic mexican food and food from central america. I also love thai and vietnamese food. American food tastes really bland to me now. Unless its a good thick cut ribeye off the grill....but of course it cant be with plain potatoes
  18. Most Restaurant's in America weather they say they are Chinese, Italian, Thai, Japanese, well let me just say this, don't let the name fool you. It is American/Chinese, American/Italian, American/Thai, etc., etc. Technically you would have to visit Italy to dine on uniquely Italian Food. Unless of course you Grandmother came from Italy and Cooks a very fine Italian plate, then, OK. Thai Food is my favorite and I cook a very fine dish. But I am American. The dish is a replica of a dish cooked by a Thai Chef (Pipop Leodhuvaphan - "MR. HOT COOKED") who immigrated here and opened Thai House. He has years ago sold the Thai House and moved back to Thailand. In my search for this wonder food I could not find it's equal. Therefore I recreated myself. (GANG GAI CHICKEN) 2 cups Chicken White Meat 1 Tbls. Thai Red Curry 1 cup Coconut Milk 1 Tbls. Nampla = Fish Sauce 1/4 Tbls. Sugar 2 Tbls. Peanut Oil 3 Tbls. Bamboo Shoots 3 Tbls. Green Pea 1 Red Pepper Thai Basil
