What would you order at a nice Thai restaurant?

What is usually your default order? What is almost always good?

Public Comments

  1. dry meat tom yum ribs
  2. Pad Thai is my default order at Thai restaurants. With the abundance of Chinese restaurants producing sometimes decent Pad Thai, it's one of those dishes that's consistently good at every Thai restaurant I've been to.
  3. Chicken Basil with Pad Thai Noodles. I always ask for Peanut Sauce and put that on the chicken. Yumm-o!!! Another good dish is the Curry Shrimp!
  4. my friend always gets chicken satai (not sure if spelled right) pronounced saute and I like the red curry with bamboo shoots
  5. I usually order this creamy soup thats more like a runny curry, thats a creamy sauce w/veggies and tofu peices that are really good (compared to reg. tofu) and spring roles.
  6. stuffed chicken wings.
  7. Appetizer: Kratong Tong Soup: Tom Ka Kai or Tom Yum Goong Then Drunken Noodles if they have it. My regular default is Chicken yellow curry with potatoes.
  8. start with shrimp, crab or fish cakes, and fresh or fried spring rolls (your choice of shrimp, chicken or vegetarian varieties). follow it with som tam, which is unripe papaya salad. it will whet your appetite for more. then have tom yam, a hot and sour soup, either with shrimps or chicken. you can have pad thai, a traditional Thai noodle dish after, but i suggest trying green chicken curry or red duck curry, stir-fried beef with basil, and some fried fish. for dessert try ta koh, or coconut custard cakes, and ripe mango with sticky rice. for drinks, have thai iced tea (it has milk) or iced lemongrass tea. now i'm hungry :)
  9. I usually get coconut shrimp as an appetizer, andPanang curry with chicken for the main course.
