What is that picture in all Thai restaurants? Every Thai restaurant I've been to has a picture of a couple that looks like it's from the 1950's. I was wondering if it had any meaning. It's the same picture in different restaurants.
Why do Thai restaurants open and close at such odd hours? I'm not sure if this is a nation-wide thing, but Thai and Indian restaurants (from what I know in Mass.) Open at Noon and close around 2:30pm then open again at 5:00pm and close whenever. I was just wondering the reason, religious or otherwise.

Who are the man and woman in the paintings in Thai restaurants? Every Thai restaurant that I go to has two paintings up on the wall somewhere. One of a man in a very distinguished looking outfit and the other a woman adorned in gold and beautiful robes. I am not sure if they are the same in each restaurant or different. Who are these people? The king and queen of Thailand?
What is the chili sauce they serve at Thai restaurants called? When I'm at a Thai restaurant and I want to make my food spicier, the waiter/waitress always brings some crushed red peppers and a little bowl of chili sauce or paste. Does anyone know what the chili sauce is called? It has a wonderfully fresh, sweet flavor. I bought a jar of something that looked similar at an Asian market, but the flavor wasn't the same at all. Can someone please tell me what to look for? Thanks! It's not sriracha. It's more of a chunky sauce with seeds in it.

Why does Ashley go to Thai Restaurants? Okay, I really do hate to be mean and generally I am a docile person who says "live and let live", but after noticing some of the ?'s over the pastfew days why does Ashley, who is "super vegan" go to Thai Resturants that obviously doesn't share her beliefs? I mean if she is going to picket in her neigbors' driveway because he eats meat, isn't that hypocritical? Just wondering? Ha-Ha! That is true Just Me! I guess I should say that she/all/them/it/he has been a jucitarian/vegan and now a raw food person all in the span of four or five days. I am not sure which one is which anymore, so I guess I will lump them altogether.
Is there any good Thai restaurants in Indy? I am looking for some good Thai curry oh yeah that one royal, i´ll just go right where the pound right on Wallaby and Ash right next to Sesame Street where strange muppets live. Give me a break.
How do you make Pad Thai taste like it does at restaurants.? I love Pad thai, and have followed a few recipes i found online. But they never have quite the same taste or consistency that restaurant pad thai has. I'm sure its something in the sauce. Does anyone know what ingredient I'm missing? Does anyone have a recipe that they have tried that tastes like restaurant pad thai?
Who runs Thai restaurants? I am just curious because after Chinese, Thai food is very common and well known, but the problem is that I see Thai restaurants all around but not a lot of Thai people. I know that in America, the Chinese are the most dominant Asian group (by numbers) followed by Filippinos, Vietnamese, Koreans, Japanese, Hmong, Cambodian, Laotian, and lastly Thai. There aren't many Thais in the U.S., unless you mainly go to L.A., so who are the ones running the Thai restaurants? When I go to a Thai restaurant sometimes I will hear the cooks and they are Thai or Lao, but then sometimes I go to some places and when they would talk in "Thai" it sounds really off or sometimes they're not speaking Thai at all! I don't think the White Americans would care none the less or are too ignorant to know that what they are eating is sometimes not TRUE authentic Thai food! This is also why I hate eating at many Thai restaurants, because the food isn't good and a lot of the food has been altered.

What should I order at a thai restaurant? What would people recommend I get at the Thai restaruant considering I am not really a vegetable person. I love meat. To give you an idea of the kind of thing that I would order at an Indian restaurant I would go for a tandoori chicken. Is there something similar to that at a thai place?
Where is the best Thai restaurant in London? I want to treat my b/f to an interesting night out and I want to surprise him by taking him to a nice thai restaurant. I know he likes spicy food and he is always having me make him pad thai at home. Thanks Sweet Dragon = ^_^ =, First, just because I am a juicearian doesn't mean I can't go out to eat with my b/f. I can still enjoy a glass of water while he is enjoying his meal. I might even get the establishment to make me a quick juice if they have a juicer on hand. Secondly, a vitamix is a blender, not a juicer. Please do some some research before answer any more of my questions. Thanks for the laugh though, I get a chuckle everytime I read one of your idiotic replies. It is quite obvious that you people are jealous of me. I am very discplined and you are just plain jealous. I feel sorry for you people, I really do.

Can anyone recomend a GOOD Thai restaurant in North London? I am totally fed up with RIP OFF Thai restaurants in London. Can anyone recomend a good one preferably in NW8 and one that provides AUTHENTIC thai at good value. Most I have been to serve small portions at high cost, charge a service fee for lousy service and want you in and out ASAP.
Peanut-free Thai restaurants? Has anyone ever been to or heard of a Thai restaurant that doesn't use peanuts or any of their by-products? Better yet, has anyone found one in the NYC metro area? I realize peanuts are a primary ingredient in a lot of Thai food, but I'm allergic and love Thai, and would be thrilled to find someplace I could go to eat it and not get horribly ill.
