What is a low calorie Thai Food dish? I am eating dinner over a friends house tonight and she wants to do take out. I have been eating really healthy and do not want to spoil it. I normal get chicken pad thai, but i would assume that is not low in calories.
How many calories in Chinese Food (Pad Thai)? I'm trying to get on track but as a snack (light meal before the gym) I ate 2 pieces of sesame chicken( about the size of a little larger then a quarter) and 2 pieces of sweet and sour chicken (about an inch and a half long). Not too big of a meal, so how many calories do you think. Also, its not really like fast food, it was from a more expensive place(probably higher quality).
low calorie thai food dish? i'm going out for thai food and need a low calorie dish. were not going to a place like panda express for thai food, he place is run by two people who just moved here from thailand so it's all authentic, nothing american. I was going to order a green thai curry and a bowl of lemon grass soup, is that alright, the highest I want to go is 700 calories so will you help me out. thanks
Help with Thai food please! Salad with a sweet/sour light green sauce? Calories? I was able to find the calorie count for all the other food I ate at a Thai restaurant today, but the salad was not part of the order (it was brought while we waited) so I don't even know what it was called. It was various leafy vegetables covered in a thin (watery) light green sauce that was sour/sweet (more sour than sweet). Any ideas what this was, and how many calories it might have had (about 2 teaspoons, I guess)?
thai food [low cal]? whats a low calories thai food [non fish] thanks! also do u hapen to know the average calories for it?
thai food? what are the lowest calorie non fish dishes?
How many calories are in tofu Pad Thai? I have decided to start eating better because I feel like I've gained a lot of weight over the past several months. I've never eaten terribly unhealthy, but starting in about February I had a LOT going on in my life between school, work, moving, etc... so with limited time I was eating out more then usual. Tonight my fiancé is going to be gone, so I don't really want to cook a major meal like I normally do when I get off work. I was thinking about stopping by and getting some Thai food from a local Thai restaurant on my way home. It's not a "fast food" Asian restaurant, all their ingredients are fresh and their dishes aren't greasy and gross. I usually order their Pad Thai with tofu. So, the question is.... how many calories are in this dish? I've done a very good job of counting my calories today and I want to make sure I won't be going over my allowance. Oh, and another thing... whenever I get their Pad Thai, I usually can't make it past a 1/4 of the portion they give me. I eat the rest over a course of several days.
What's Healthier Pad Thai or Pad See Ew? I'm gonna get some Thai food for lunch with some co-workers, but i'm dieting and technically today is NOT my cheat day. So already planning to just eat half my plate for lunch (and eat the rest another time). But what's overall better in regards to less calories, but having more protein and dietary fiber? Shrimp Pad Thai? Or Beef Pad See Ew? ~G
THAI ---How do I order something HEALTHY? Anyone have some suggestions for healthy Thai food options? I'm going to a Thai resturant tommorrow and want to steer towards something lower in calories, fat and salt!
Do calories count if you throw up within a hour? No, i do not have an eating disorder just that i log my calorie intake everyday on my bodybugg program and i had thai food earlier and within a hour of having it i got super sick and thew it up and it was not self induced. Logically im thinking i shouldnt add it? I dont know...thats why im asking.
Is it like i had 1000 calories today? i had cereal and milk -220 cals then crackers 160 cals apple crisp 230 cals thai food -390 cals THEN AFTER I ATE 160 cals after but i went on the tread mill and burned it off. So is like i just ate 1000 cals ?
How many calories in friend tofu (ordinary portion common in Chinese/Thai dishes)? Trying to lose weight and eat healthy and I frequently order food from Chinese and Thai restaurants. Several dishes contain fried tofu cubes -- what's a good way to approximate caloric content of this? Obviously fried tofu is not as healthy as steamed tofu (or a million other things) and I am not looking for advice on dieting, thanks. I have that covered. Just trying to get an accurate caloric content of these dishes, for instance General Tso's Tofu or Kung Pao Tofu at a Chinese restaurant (without the rice).
THAI resturant...Ordering something HEALTHY? I love Thai food, and am going to a Thai food resturant tommorrow with my boyfriend. The thing is, I don't want to order something that is really salty, fatty, and loaded with calories..... Any suggestions? The menu uses lots of words I don't understand...... I don't know what to get! Does anyone have any HEALTHY Thai food options? THANKS!!

how do i get my neighbor to leave me alone? i know he likes me and i find him to be annoying and nosey. i assume that he knows i broke up with my boyfriend recently because he cyber-stalked me on myspace, which is why he is writing me more emails. he has my email address because i play drums and wanted to know if he could hear them from his apt. i didn't want to stop by and ask, so i wrote to the email address that is on the lame business card he gave me. this was an email he sent me recently as an attempt to "chat".barf: Eliana Thanks once again for the detailed email. I will google and find the Modell store here in the city. I did go to Whole food couple of times and yes it is healthy and fresh. Did you mean cooked food from their hot buffet section or just the fruits from there? I will try getting rid of Chinese noodle and I know that I can easily do it. I am guessing Thai food (noodles) might have similar calories. Right? I try to get a soup and green salad no dressing during the lunchc but then I become very hungry in the night. And yes the dinner looks very tempting then :) So far my will power has worked. I wish I could have a flat stomach like yours :( take care. bye - Surendra umm creepy? do you think? also, why do i need to give him diet tips? what am i his mother? what a creep. he also knows i wrote a status update on my facebook about the nasty fish he cooks that smells up my floor because he now sprays air refreshener when he cooks it. he really creeps me out! help!! i know he won't attack me, but i really just want him to think i have a boyfriend or get the hint that i don't want to talk to him. i don't want to come across as rude, but i really want no contact with this man. i think he's more just lonely than psycho or whatever, but still..any advice? thanks -eliana
Quiz: Your Astrological Food Personality? http://quiz.ivillage.com/astrology/tests/astroeats.htm After you take this quiz, is it reflective off your natal chart? ---- ME: You scored 46.2% Light as Air Refreshing Air energy stimulates your hunger; the probability that you have Gemini, Libra or Aquarius in your birth chart is high. You like meals that are light, quick and easy to take with you on the run. You're a "label looker": You like to analyze the nutritional, fat, fiber and caloric content of your food. Fruits and vegetables appeal to you because they're healthy, delicious and portable. Energy bars, smoothies, wraps, nuts, prepackaged bags of pretzels or trail mix and pita sandwiches are probably some of your other standbys. You aren't likely to indulge in long, languid dinners unless you're surrounded by your favorite conversationalists. While it's admirable that you like to make educated choices about the food you consume, you may be missing out if you always pass up the crème brulee! You scored 30.8% Hot and Spicy Fire Fire energy is what revs up your appetite -- there's a good chance that you have Aries, Leo or Sagittarius in your birth chart. People often describe you as passionate, lively and courageous, so it's no surprise that you favor foods that are a bit daring! You gravitate toward spicy dishes and distinct flavors -- you have no fear of wasabi, chili and cayenne peppers, ginger or garlic! Bland pastas and unseasoned rice dishes bore you to tears, and if you're in charge of selecting a restaurant, you're likely to pick something exotic and unexpected -- Ethiopian, Thai, Caribbean and Cajun are possibilities. You'll try anything once! However, don't be afraid of comfort foods; everybody needs to relax with a cozy bowl of chicken noodle soup from time to time. Think of it as a playful nod to your childhood! ( Water and Earth were low ) Sagittarius sun Leo moon Aquarius rising Sagittarius Mercury Scorpio Venus Aries Mars Gemini Jupiter Well, I really do like the foods for Air Signs. I count calories, fat and fiber. I love anything on the go- yogurt, granola bars, fruits and veggie. I love energy bars! Sandwiches and wraps are among my faves. They did not mention Hot Pockets, but I always imagined Hot Pockets being an air sign food. I don't know why. But I do have the majority of fire in my chart. However, fire comes shortly after air in second place in the quiz. I do like foreign foods as well when I'm in the mood for eating out. Other than that, fire and air are mostly in my chart, so it was pretty right. It did get my eating habits on the spot. :) Have fun!
Am I (a 17 year old male) losing weight the right way? Hey guys, I've lost 30 lbs in the past four months. I did it by drastically cutting my calorie and fat intake. I ate a fraction of what I used to eat, and I'm guessing that I lived off 600 calories or less on any given weekday. I also worked out for an hour and a half every weekday. But I did treat myself to some restaurant Thai food/ 12" steak and cheese sandwiches on the weekends. But I often have horrendous cravings during the weekdays for a Subway sandwich. SO HERE IS MY QUESTION: AM I LOSING WEIGHT/BUILDING MUSCLE THE RIGHT WAY OR AM I STARVING MYSELF? P.S: I'm now trying to build a six pack/runner's body... should I start eating more energy laden foods (give examples please! I'm clueless :) I currently weight 150 lbs. 17 years old. South East Asian Male.

Are there any healthy low calorie rice substitution? I'm Thai so I eat jasmine rice every day with other foods that contain a lot of flavor and I don't eat much american food. i'm starting out my diet by not eating rice but i need a substitution for it. I know brown rice is good but i dont like it for some reason. Would pasta noodle, vermicilli noodles or mung bean noodle (clear noodle) be healthier? Or if you have any other suggestions that would be great.
Trying to Lose Weight, Doing BJJ, Muay Thai, and Considering Capoeira. I need help with the diet!? Well, the title pretty much tells the question, but I am currently extremely overweight (but have been my entire life so I am actually quite healthy with normal blood pressure and a resting H.R. of 66 bpm), I have been doing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai for over a month, and haven't seen any change in weight. I know my eating habits are the problem, and I am trying to change them. My actual question (finally!) is help with actual foods to eat...I know what not to eat. I am very familiar with those items. What I am looking for is some REAL meals and ways to get into the correct routine of eating right. any help is appreciated, but I would definitely appreciate tips that won't lead to death from lack of calories (such as the 3 day diet). Thanks!

If you already weigh 120, how do you get flat abs? I've altered my diet removing fast food, fried food, most sweets & junk food. I generally eat the following: Yogurt, granola bars, fruit, eggs, salad, tuna or turkey sandwich, grilled cheese, chicken, stir-fry, boca burger, sometimes pasta, sides of broccoli or corn, fat-free or sugar free pudding,100 calorie snack packs, granola bars, or wheat thins. Every now & then I may have something like potatoes or oven-baked fries, rice, or pad thai. I've increased my water intake & milk/dairy intake. I do cardio 4+ times a week, atleast 45 minutes or until I burn 800 cals, whichever happens last. Alternating between the ArcTrainer/Elliptical & the treadmill, & occasionally the stationary bike. I do ab excercises atleast 4 times a week and I started taking HydroxyCut. I've lost a couple of pounds but haven't seen any changes in my abs. I weigh 120 now so I don't know how much more I can or should lose. What am I doing wrong? What else should I be doing?

Was this a bad choice? Today I had a half-day from school, so I chose to get my eyebrows waxed and workout. Because I can't legally drive yet (I'll be 16 this spring), I walked to the salon, which was a nice 3 mile walk. Between walking to the gym from the salon, walking home, and going to and from the bus stop, I walked 6.8 miles. I also worked out at the gym for an hour and a half [running for 10 minutes on the treadmill and weight machines for the rest). For breakfast, I had a rice cake with almond butter and honey (about 160 calories). When I got home, I had a Thai vegetable soup that was 130 calories. Even though I'm trying to lose weight, I thought that the fact that I had probably burnt 3X the calories that I consumed wasn't healthy, so I ate more food despite not being hungry. Was this a bad choice? Should I have kept my calorie intake at what it was? Thanks!!! To have more calories, I had a tofu-burger, some Wheat thins, and some cheese. I'm having an orange when I get hungry because I don't think that I've eaten healthily today.

Would this be a good routine to follow if i am trying to lose weight while trying to get stronger? hello all, this is my first time ever asking a question online but i can't seem to find anyone around me to help answer my questions. ok first off im 20 years old 6 foot and weigh about 192. i started lifting weights and running back in july and have gotten stronger, and i've also lost weight. i have seen in multiple places that it is near impossible to lose weight and gain muscle mass, however i just recently started watching what i eat very carefully so i am wondering if my routine is a good idea to use for my goals. my daily dietary goals are calories-3400 fat-65g saturated fat-20g sodium-2400mg carbs-130g protein-70g my workout routine is for 3 days a week i do bench press 5x5 much lower weight bench press at half reps 1x20, 1x15, and 1x10 bar using hands in different positions 1x20, 1x15, and 1x10 alternating between dumbbell press and inclined press 3x8 each chest fly 3x10 triceps extension 3x10 triceps push down 3x10 external rotation on bench 2x12 lying rotators on bench 2x12 barbell curls 3x10 dumbbell curls start at 40lbs 1x10 work way down 5lbs per weight until at 5lbs 1x24-then repeat except going up in weight bench dips 2x20 barbell reverse curl 3x10 hammer curl with twist 3x12 hindu squats 1x150 hindu push up 1x10 explosive push up 1x10 thai elbow push up 1x10 push up on medicine ball 1x10 t-push up 1x10 jump rope for 5-10 mins run for 10-20 mins the other 3 days i do dumbbell lateral raises 3x10 dumbbell press 3x10 bent over barbell row 3x10 wide grip pull up 3x5 one arm dumbbell row 3x10 latpull downn 3x10 seated row 3x10 while standing lift plate from lowered position till outstretched in front of chest 2x12 3 different variations of mountain climbers each 1x40 throw the medicine ball as hard as i can into ground 3x10 do star jumps with medicine ball 3x10 calf extensions(raises? don't really know the name) 3x12 leg extensions 3x10 hindu squats 1x150 leg raises 2x10 6 inches 1x30 seconds plank 1x60 seconds run 10-20 mins if anyone has any suggestions on how modifying my workout would help me i would really appreciate it, because i just saw exercises that i thought i could do and just added them to the routine i was doing. what would anyone suggest i do to keep a proper diet, because almost all of the days i do not meet my daily calorie levels and if i do get there i have to go double over my fat allowances. i live on a college campus right now so its hard to eat nutritious food, i ate one piece of chicken tonight and it was 15g of fat 7g of sat fat and 1200mg of sodium. those are the things i should be trying to avoid right? i've also started taking muscle milk so i have been getting more protein. all of this stuff is very new to me and is confusing so if anyone could help me out i would really appreciate it.
Recipe for tonight... shrimp & chicken...what else to make? These are the two recipes that I want to cook tonight... do they go well together? Chicken with Tomatoes and Feta What You Need! 1 tsp. oil 4 small boneless skinless chicken breast halves (1 lb.) 1 onion, chopped 1 can (14-1/2 oz.) Italian-style diced tomatoes, undrained 1/4 cup KRAFT Greek Vinaigrette Dressing 1 lemon, thinly sliced 1/2 cup ATHENOS Crumbled Feta Cheese with Basil & Tomato Make It! HEAT oil in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add chicken and onions; cover. Cook 10 to 14 min. or until chicken is done (165ºF), turning after 6 min. Remove chicken from skillet; cover to keep warm. ADD tomatoes, dressing and lemons to onions in skillet; cook 4 min. or until heated through, stirring frequently. RETURN chicken to skillet. Spoon sauce over chicken. Cook 1 min. or until chicken is heated through; top with cheese. -AND- Bang Bang Shrimp 1 lb shrimp, shelled and deveined 1/2 cup mayonnaise 1/4 cup Thai sweet chili sauce 3-5 squirts Sriracha hot sauce ( I put way more but it depends how spicy you like your food) 1/2-3/4 cup Cornstarch, to coat the shrimp in (cornstarch makes it so light vs using flour.. and healthier..only 320 calories for 1/4 lb of shrimp, which is a good serving!) Directions 1 Mix mayo and sauces for coating. 2 Bread shrimp in cornstarch. 3 Deep fat fry the shrimp until lightly brown. 4 Drain on paper towel, put shrimp in a bowl and coat with the sauce. 5 Serve in a lettuce lined bowl, top with chopped scallions. What else can I cook with this? Maybe a salad also? Thanks All!
