Do Thai people that work at Thai restaurants eat Thai food every day? my guess is that they do. I really can't see them mixing it up with Italian, Mexican, or Indian food. Ahhhh to eat Thai every day, sounds good to me!

Who runs Thai restaurants? I am just curious because after Chinese, Thai food is very common and well known, but the problem is that I see Thai restaurants all around but not a lot of Thai people. I know that in America, the Chinese are the most dominant Asian group (by numbers) followed by Filippinos, Vietnamese, Koreans, Japanese, Hmong, Cambodian, Laotian, and lastly Thai. There aren't many Thais in the U.S., unless you mainly go to L.A., so who are the ones running the Thai restaurants? When I go to a Thai restaurant sometimes I will hear the cooks and they are Thai or Lao, but then sometimes I go to some places and when they would talk in "Thai" it sounds really off or sometimes they're not speaking Thai at all! I don't think the White Americans would care none the less or are too ignorant to know that what they are eating is sometimes not TRUE authentic Thai food! This is also why I hate eating at many Thai restaurants, because the food isn't good and a lot of the food has been altered.

Can I order Thai food at a restaurant without fish oil? I'm a vegetarian, and am going out with my boyfriend's family for dinner tonight. I know fish oil is an ingredient used largely in Thai food.. even in simple fried rice. Can they make their dishes without fish oil, or would I be rude to ask? Should I just stick with white rice? i ve been goin to this thai food restaurant, and one of the waitresses, asks me my name? every time i go there she asks how i ve been, we have nice short conversations short cause they re very busy there, i noticed that shes nice and always holds her gaze into my eyes while smiling at me til i turn away to leave. one day as i am leaving she asks me my name. i started to like this girl for her personality and originally she was nt attractive to me but now i find her so cute, i finally build up the courage to ask her to a movie and she says shes so busy. Where can I find Thai food such as mieng kam and kao soi in OC/LA? I'm looking for a Thai restaurant that serves rare dishes such as mieng kam (dried shrimp, shallots, lime wrapped in tea leaves) and kao soi (chiang mai style curry noodles) or even ba mee yok (green dry noodles with duck and gravy). I've lived in Orange County for many years but have never found a place that serves these items.

Help with Thai food question? Went to a great Thai restaurant (in Japan). I don't know the spelling in Thai, but the translation was in phonetic Japanese 'Gai Ho Bai Tooi'. It was chicken wrapped in a leaf and sauteed (I think). Anyway, I would like to know if this is a standard Thai dish. If so, was the leaf bamboo? And most importantly, is the leaf edible? Do most people eat the leaf wrapped around the chicken (we peeled it off).

Found A Bug(ROACH) in my food (at Thai Restaurant) HELP!!!!? A friend called me Sunday, very upset because she found a roach in her meal, while dining at a very popular Thai resturant near where we live. She said she screamed when she saw it and the manager of the resturant came over...apologized and offered her a refund. The manager had the owner call her to ask what else could they do?
